Day 3 SUN (24/4) - Lantau Island & Shopping @ Citygate Outlet

Where to stay: Novotel Century, Wan Chai - HK Island

08.30 Star Ferry Central - Mui Wo.
Ferry from Central - Mui Wo. The ferry route runs frequently so the waiting time is minimum and the journey only takes about 40 minutes. When you arrive in Mui Wo ferry pier, you'll think you've landed in Bicyle Heaven, there are hundreds of bikes lined up at the right of the terminal.

Central Pier @ HK Central
09.30 Bus from Mui Wo terminal - Ngong Ping (Po Lin Monastery).
The bus terminal is right in front of the ferry terminal and one-way trip costs around HKD 17 which you can simply pay with the Octopus Card. Bus ride takes maybe 45 minutes and it takes you through narrow and steep roads but at the same time, it gives you a magnificent view of the mountain and village life around the area. The bus will last stop at the Ngong Ping Village and you can see the Big Buddha statue from there.

Mind you the ferry and bus combination may not be the fastest way to the destination. But this route certainly presents you with some breathtaking views of the sea and the mountains around. Total experience is also quite relaxing as we literally don't have to queue for ferry or bus.
